When I get bored at lunch I try to find something cool to photograph near my worksite (which is different each week and all over north and eastern China). The beautiful Sacred Heart Cathedral in Jinan, Shandong Province, China was built in the Gothic Revival style between 1901-1905 by Franciscan brother Korbinian Paugger. The Cultural Revolution closed the church in 1966 but it reopened in 1985.
I didn't notice the cool high-speed trains in the distance until editing this. More interesting details about the cathedral and the era it was built in here.
